Heath, Earl of Ravensdale, has brought his wife and the Misses Culpepper to London for the Season. Raven has asked some friends, including Hawksworth and Leventhorpe to help him introduce and keep an eye on the ladies. Unlike the twins and Brette, Blythe is not really excited about the whole venture. She wants to go home to the country. She now has to learn to successfully deal with the Ton, Society’s rules, snobby debutantes, questionable suitors, and the very handsome and grumpy Triston, Lord Leventhorpe. Truth is, Tristan doesn’t want to be here either. Old secrets and old enemies plague him.This story is emotional and relatable. Learning to cope with bad experiences in the past and trying to adapt to new places and experiences is something a lot of us have in common with Tristan and Blythe. There are schemes afoot and some tense moments (here is where Blythe’s conundrum comes in). There are also some heartwarming surprises. I love the characters in this story and the series. Stevie Zimmerman does a great job with the voices in this one, bringing the characters to life and pulling the reader into the story. She gives Mr. Phillips a voice that leaves no doubt about his character (she does sleeze really well). And…speaking of Phillips ends up as a perfect example of consequences befitting the crime. Justice is served! This is a delightful story with great characters. I enjoyed it.

I am delighting in this "Conundrum" series. Book two focuses on Blythe and Tristan from book one. The Misses Culpepper have been introduced to London society and dazzled everyone. There are sharks aplenty and fortunately the Misses Culpepper are up for the challenge of conniving women and evil men. Blythe continues to be drawn to the quiet, stern and withdrawn Tristan (best friend of her new brother-in-law) no matter how many times they verbally battle. Tristan fights the idea of being "leg shackled" yet believes he must watch over Blythe and protect her from dastardly men. The dialogue and descriptors are so creative I was chuckling throughout the entire read. Characters are well-developed, settings well-drawn and plot/sub-plots fairly normal for historical romances (but do not detract from my enjoyment). Have fun reading this delightful story.

I really enjoyed this book until the last chapter. I knew our h was going to be a spit fire with our H from book 1. The sparks flew with this couple and I thought it would be one heck of a romp with them. But, no not to be - this was a clean romance story. In book 1 we had one lovemaking scene within marriage, but nope nothing in this one. The author was teasing us, because Blythe was not afraid of her wedding night and wasn't bashful at all, so I expected a hint at the night together - nope all off page. Then it goes straight to the epilogue which was nice but I was now let down.I did enjoy the interaction between the H and h and the road to HEA was certainly not smooth. I liked how the romance built slowly and was believable.Everything is wrapped up nice, all the secondary character's who caused problems are dealt with and we know how their lives turned out. Nocliffhanger either.I am not going into the premise of the story, just what you can expect in reading it. The story is good, I just wanted a small amount of spice. (ljb)
