This is extremely unbecoming of both Taschen and Dian Hanson, both of whom are famous for high quality books and editting. This small book doesn't do justice to the level of haute erotic photography in the book, and I'm quite frankly surprised that the artists signed releases for this book. The color saturation is bad, the text in some terrible typeface that's hard to read on glossy paper, and let's be honest -- nobody gets erotic photography books for their portability. We get them because we want to see beautiful photographs in a 'wow' package that really does justice to the passion present in the photos. So why make a book the size of a travel guide? Is someone packing this away for their trip to Bermuda? You can still enjoy some of the photographs, but I'd save up and either buy the bigger version (if you can find it -- it was published in 2009). The fact that this is a three stars review and not one star is just a testament of the abilities of photographers, not any compliment to the publishing house or the editor.

Dian Hanson has done it again. Being a fan of Dian Hanson having purchased her "Big" books, I just had to have her latest edited book as well. The front cover photo of "Sonia" is one of the best photos in this book, and there are others of interest for me. More interesting were the short statements of the photographers describing how they approach their art and the difference between pornography and the erotic images they try to create with their models. I was surprised there were no men as principal subjects in the photographs except as supporting characters. What are heterosexual women viewers supposed to do? As we understand today, women can have a great and abiding sexual appetite if they are honest with themselves. I would strongly recommend to Ms. Hanson that her next book focus on erotic photography for women who love men. Perhaps that is Vol. 2.

If you want a short introduction to some artists in this genre this is a good book. But as others have said you only get a tiny view of each artists' work, and the pages are not large so it is not ideal for photographic viewing. It really is for identifying artists you want to follow in the future rather than really knowing their work.

I am a fan of books like this that have a compilation of several photographers, if you don't like one photographer your bound to like another. I enjoyed the variety of this book.

AS A BEGINNER IN EROTIC PHOTOGRAPHY I FOUND THIS BOOK FULL OF BEAUTIFUL PICTURES. IT HELPED ME WITH IDEAS OF MY OWN FOR POSING MY MODELS AND SPECIAL LADY.
