As one who has always been fascinated by Hebrew and its seemingly undecipherable writing system, I had tried many booksover the years and found them too uninteresting. Not so with this book by Gary Ghaller entitled "Simply Learn Hebrew". It ispresented in a way that any beginner will find it easy to progress and the references to expand on the knowledge gained bythe text presented are most valuable. Well done. Great learning tool.
It's been 54 years since I was able to read Hebrew. I am basically starting to read the language from point zero. I am going a little slower then the 14 days that the author says we should take but I am learning... The vowels are giving me a bit of trouble but by repetition I am learning how they work too. I think that by adhering to my pace I will be able to read the language and then I can start working on the vocabulary so as to actually learn Hebrew. My big objection to learning Hebrew 50+ years ago was that we were only learning how to read sounds which made no sense to us. I am a bit wiser now and know what I want to do and this book is teaching me how.I wish the rest of the video's would be complete and put online as promised by the author. In the later chapters when I pronounce something I do not know if I am correct or not and if my pronunciation is wrong then I am not learning anything. I would have given it a higher rating had the video's been finished but in the present state it's like a book with the last 4 chapters being omitted.
I was enjoying learning through this book, which references to videos on the author's blog, after few videos they haven't been updated and book seems to be incomplete because of the lack of videos.
This course on Hebrew is great! It is easy to follow and explains each lesson in a way that is easy to under stand. It takes about a year or a little longer to complete. The thing that I like is you learn to read the Tora in Hebrew.
Not what I expected. I wanted in-depth info on learning the alphabet. If your looking for sentences frequently used this book is for you.
This is exactly what I wanted . Easy to follow. It would seem very hard to learn but it wasn't. Highly recommend this course and the author.
Great book for Hebrew Language students. It's on my Kindle Fire and I have the option of reading or listening.
I'm enjoying this, and love the online references that tell details the stories behind the letters, and the gematria, etc. I am confident I will have no problem remembering what I'm learning with this resource.
