Comrades,spouses,children and appreciative citizens desired to commemorate their patriotism.And why no similar expressions to "the greatest generation" of W.W.2 veterans? Thank {or curse } public works czar Robert Moses.Written by a licensed tour guide and Marine .His dedication to the subject is admirable.

Very useful to track the monuments in NYC

I thought this was a history of NYC and the first World War. It is just a list of WWI era monuments in the city. I was disappointed.
